You have completed paragraph 6.2 Quadratic formulas if you have done one of the final assignments below. There are two different final assignments and you need to do at least one of them, which one you do is up to you!  After you have done the assignment you need to hand it in.

Final assignment quadratic formulas

You are going to do at least one of the two final assignments. The final assignments will check if you have achieved the learning objectives, as stated above. 

After you've finished the assignment, you need to hand it in.


Option 1

Maximum of 2 learner

Content:

You are going to make a short comic story about quadratic formulas. You may draw the comic story yourself or you may use an online template such as storyboardthat, where you can sign up for free. Your comic story must contain examples of quadratic formulas, explanation, exercises and answers. You also need to explain the difference between linear formulas and quadratic formulas.

What needs to be in your comic story? 

- Your comic story should have a cover. 

- You may not use examples, theory or exercises from your book or from the website.

- It must contain at least three examples of quadratic formulas. 

- It must contain an explanation about how you can see if a formula is a quadratic formula. 

- It must have an explanation about how you can calculate with the quadratic formulas. 

- You need to design 8 different types of exercises and you need to give answers with INTERMEDIATE steps as well. 

- Explain why you need to use brackets with negative numbers. 

- Use daily life examples. 

- PIF words --> explained in English

Materials: 

- Laptop

- Paper

-Colours

- Optional: A comic story template (search for one without additional costs such as storyboardthat). 

- You may use everything you want, be creative!

Hand it in:

You need to hand your comic story in, don't forget your name(s). You may hand it in on paper or digitally. 



Option 2

Maximum of two learners

Content:

You are going to make a information video about quadratic formulas with a maximum length of 5 minutes. You are going to explain how a quadratic formula looks like and how you can calculate with it. 

What needs to be in your information video? 

-If you choose to make the video together, you have to speak the same amount of time. 

- Before you are going to film you need to make a plan: what are you going to do, what do you need, how long is it going to take? 

- You may not use examples, theory or exercises from your book or from the website.

- It must have at least three examples of quadratic formulas. 

- It must have an explanation about how you can see if a formula is a quadratic formula. 

- It must have an explanation about how you can calculate with the quadratic formulas.
